Association History

Alumni Association History

The association was established in the early 1970's to facilitate the annual gathering of its members for renewing friendships and to enjoy the fellowship with old school classmates. The alumni association name does not depict the true membership objective. Recommended members are all those that may have attended Lovett, Marion or Paris Crossing Townships grade and/or High Schools.

The present gathering of members is currently being held the 4th Friday of June at the Pines Restaurant located on Highway 31 near Seymour, IN.

To encourage maximum attendance, select classes are honored each year. This provides the opportunity for the honored classes to encourage fellow classmates to attend and renew friendships. At the 2019 reunion, it was decided to honor four classes each year to promote increased attendance. This will start with the 2020 banquet. Most every year for the past several years we have been able to average around 125 members in attendance.

In addition to visitation, a buffet meal is served and a business meeting is conducted. The business meeting covers a memorial ceremony for those who have passed in the last year. It also provides the opportunity to introduce those selected for the annual scholarships. There is the reading of the secretary and treasurer reports. Old and new business is discussed and votes are held for the officer's slate for the following year.
